Dil biliminin alt alanı olan semantik, dilsel göstergelerin anlamını araştırır.	Semantics, a subfield of linguistics, investigates the meaning of linguistic expressions.
Dilsel göstergeler ise sözlü ve yazılı biçimlerle ilgili olan bütün ifadelerdir.	Linguistic expressions, on the other hand, are all signs related to oral and written forms.
Bu bağlamda morfemler en küçük göstergelerdir.	In this context, morphemes are the smallest expressions.
Daha büyük göstergeler kelimelerdir, bunu ise cümleler, cümleler ve metinler takip eder.	Larger expressions are words, followed by sentences, and sentences and text.
Bütün bu birimler “gösterge” görevini yerine getirir.	All these units play their respective roles as expressions.
